OH REALLY!?

If you´d like to have a really good portrait of yourself for whatever reason, I suggest you contact Andris.
I can t forget the time or place
And we’d just met, she’s just the girl for me
And I want all the world to see we’ve met
Mmm, mmm, mmm, la di di
This winter to far has sucked bigtime. Ski-wise that is.
I usually ski. A lot. The snowconditions in this part of the country has been miserable so far this year. I haven´t skied once. Done a lot of XC-skiing though, but that´s just not the same.
Sitting around complaining doesn´t help much, though. So I´m just looking forward to the summer. All the epic trips I´ll most likely go on. Working for TERRENGSYKKEL magazine, meeting other bike-interested people and new places.
Came over this photo of Henrik shot some years ago, with my old Canon Powershot G5, my first proper digital camera. I think this was shot during the fall, kind of dark setting with heavy clouds. Did a B/W conversion, and I love how it turned out. This will most likely go on my wall as soon as I can afford more ink for my printer.
Good times. Looking forward to having more of those.
Shut the gates at sunset
After that you can’t get out
You can see the bigger picture
Find out what it’s all about
You’re open to the skyline
You won’t want to go back home
In a garden full of angels
You will never be alone
But oh the road is long
The stones that you are walking on
Have gone
With the moonlight to guide you
Feel the joy of being alive
The day that you stop running
Is the day that you arrive
And the night that you got locked in
Was the time to decide
Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride
If you close the door to your house
Don’t let anybody in
It’s a room that’s full of nothing
All that underneath your skin
Face against the window
You can’t watch it fade to grey
And you’ll never catch the fickle wind
If you choose to stay
But oh the road is long
The stones that you are walking on
Have gone
With the moonlight to guide you
Feel the joy of being alive
The day that you stop running
Is the day that you arrive
And the night that you got locked in
Was the time to decide
Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride
Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride

Things does not always go as planned.
After finishing the last threeweek long course at school, I was desperate to shoot something that I _wanted_ to do.
It was late, but the light was epic, so I threw the Ranger RX flash in the trunk and went out with Henrik. He needed some new pics for his outerwear-sponsor anyways. Came to the location I had in mind, and I could see that the ambient was dropping really fast. Dragged the damn Ranger across a giant field, and when I finally had it rigged, it was almost pitch black. And I thought “what the heck”, and just shot 20 frames with what was available. Wrapped it up, and went home. No shots good enough for any catalogue-use, but there is plenty of time for that.
So until next time, I´ve learned that stress usually gets you nowhere, and that I´ll have to plan a shoot like that better. The good thing though, is that I now find myself seldomly coming home from a shoot with things that is not good enough.
Like this frame of Henrik. Waiting in between shots, beautiful evening light, and freezing cold. Lonely. It makes me feel good!
